Overcome your
Sex Addiction permanently

With Dr. Stanton Peele's online Life Process Program you CAN

The Life Process Sex program was developed to provide an alternative to Sexaholics Anonymous (SA).

We wanted to create an non 12-step alternative recovery program for those that do not agree with the 12-step philosophy or did not find success with the steps.

Sex addiction affects all aspects of one’s life, no matter how much we convince ourselves that the problem is contained.

With the Life Process Sex Program we do not ask you to stop lusting or to become sexually sober. Nor do we ask you to attend public meetings to talk about your ‘problem’.

Sex is the addiction that people most often mock when they hear it named. “Sex — wish I had that addiction.” But we at LPP understand that addiction is not about fun, but compulsive need.

Our program will provide you with practical sex addiction help and  the opportunity to overcome your addiction on your own and from the privacy of your own home.

The ways that LPP will help you see your way clear of sex addiction include (1) fully appreciating the negative impact it has on your life, (2) the reasons and needs that drive you to pursue it, and (3) the alternative paths available to you, with your particular background and values, to pursue instead.

Questions about sex addiction

How Do Sexual Addictions Develop?

Sex addiction often arises from emotional distress, unresolved trauma, or self-destructive behavior patterns that grow over time. When urges to seek sexual experiences or content become compulsive, they lead to escalating negative outcomes for a person. This is a sexual addiction. Such sexual addictions often form a recurrent pattern in people’s lives.   Our program helps you recognize this pattern and its underlying causes. LPP offers practical ways to extricate yourself through creating more solid relationships and other, more productive ways of engaging in life.

Is Sex Addiction Real?

Many people find destructive personal relationships to be the most destructive forms of addiction. For instance, a large number of abusive relationships, suicides and murders can be traced to addictive relationships. Based on such horrific outcomes, one might joke that if love and sex were drugs they would be banned! But there is no joking about the often excruciating effects of negative relationships. Our program helps you understand the underlying drivers and real-life impact of these behavior patterns. By combining self-awareness, life-coping tools, and peer support, you can find a pathway to forming positive connections that will eliminate addictive relationships from your life.

Can I Recover from Sex Addiction by Myself?

Yes, you can gain positive momentum for change independently. But our structured program provides a supportive framework that will assist you in regaining control of your life. Through modules on sex addiction and learning intimacy and other life skills, coaching, and community support, you will br assisted in developing healthy relationship patterns. Over time, you gain the self-respect and the tools needed to answer “Can sex addiction be overcome?” with a resounding “Yes, I have.”

What Can I Do Now to Manage My Sexual Addiction?

Start by identifying triggers and daily routines that fuel compulsive behaviors. Introducing interventions like time limits on technology or limiting risky situations can help. It’s also vital to examine past abusive relation patterns, wherever these occur within the family, due to religious shame, or based on social or cultural marginalization. All can undercut self-respect and lead to secrecy and guilt. Our program equips you with positive life and relationship values through structured reflection, positive habit adoption, and emotional coping and intimacy skills. These are encouraged by our support for your involvement in positive communities like our own .

How to Handle Stigma and Ridicule While Undergoing Sex Addiction Treatment?

Sex addiction often carries with it shaming social judgments. Joining sex addiction recovery groups or seeking peer support sometimes helps to counter isolation and shame. On the other hand by focusing solely on negative life experiences these groups sometimes end up solidifying members’ negative feelings about themselves and identities. Our program is a private, supportive network that counteracts ridicule and self-contempt. By fostering open communication and building self-compassion, you will develop resilience against shame and continuing trauma. In place of such feelings you are encouraged to view yourself and your path forward in a positive, optimistic light.

Do You Offer Discreet Coaching and Peer Support?

Yes. Our online sex addiction help includes confidential coaching sessions, where you receive personalized feedback and guidance. We also provide private group meetings, connecting you with peers who understand your challenges. This discreet setting ensures you can share openly while benefiting from collective support that can be an integral element in sex addiction recovery.

Can I Join the Program if I’m Dating Someone with Sex Addiction?

Absolutely. Our platform welcomes partners seeking better understanding or support for their loved one’s compulsive sexual behavior. By engaging in the program yourself, you’ll gain insights, tools, and strategies to foster healthier communication. This involvement can reinforce mutual growth, whether you’re aiming to help with sex addiction or strengthen your relationship overall.  But, please note, you are not the cause of the sex addiction or necessarily a sex addict yourself (although that can also be true). We encourage addicted partners to voluntarily participate in our program themselves.

Dear Prudence is an advice column appearing several times weekly in the online magazine Slate and syndicated to over 200 newspapers. In this article, we contrast how Prudie advises a follower whose boyfriend has a drug problem, with a follower whose is concerned about his wifes sexual history.
